About the Organisation
Our client is a well-established New Zealand business with a nationwide network of locations and a strong customer-facing operation. They are seeking a capable IT Support Technician to join their Auckland-based IT team, supporting both internal staff and users across multiple sites throughout New Zealand.

About the Role
This is a hands-on support position suited to an IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service.
Working as part of a small IT team, you will provide Level 2 support across a varied technology environment, assisting users via phone, email, remote support tools, and face-to-face interactions. You’ll take ownership of incidents from initial logging through to resolution, escalating more complex issues where required while maintaining responsibility for communication and follow-up.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key IT support contact for users across multiple locations
  • Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, hardware, software, network and access-related issues
  • Manage and resolve helpdesk requests within agreed service levels
  • Support user onboarding, offboarding and account administration
  • Maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and other peripherals
  • Utilise remote access and monitoring tools to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles
  • Assist with technology improvement initiatives and project work
  • Coordinate escalations while ensuring users remain informed throughout the process
  • Run some small projects end to end

Skills & Experience

  • Recent experience in a Level 1/2 IT Support or Service Desk role (2-5 years)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows environments, end-user devices and business applications
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, including user administration, email and MFA
  • Exposure to Google Workspace administration
  • Experience using remote support and remote monitoring tools
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP
  • Experience supporting hardware including desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users effectively
  • Understanding of retail environments
  • SQL, PowerShell and AI literacy would be an advantage
