The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an intermediate Cloud Engineer to join a collaborative and highly capable technology team. This role offers the chance to work across a broad range of cloud technologies, supporting the design, implementation, optimisation, and ongoing operation of critical cloud-based services. You will work closely with technical teams to ensure cloud environments remain secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and future platform enhancements. This organisation is office first, so there is a requirement to be in the office unless occasionally required to be at home. But are very flexible around working hours.
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, administer, and support cloud infrastructure environments
  • Maintain and optimise networking, compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Support web-hosted applications and cloud-based platforms
  • Monitor system performance, availability, security, and operational health
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues
  • Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities
  • Contribute to cloud architecture and infrastructure improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with development and technical teams to deliver reliable platform solutions

 
Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience supporting public cloud environments (Azure), including infrastructure and platform services (Paas IaaS)
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including virtual networks, DNS, VPNs, load balancing, proxies, and web application security
  • Experience supporting containerised environments using Kubernetes or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of compute, storage, backup, monitoring, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Understanding of cloud security principles, vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms
  • Exposure to source control and DevOps tooling would be advantageous
