Level 2 IT Support Technician | $75K–$85K + Hybrid Working

Are you an experienced IT Support professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and providing outstanding customer service?

We’re partnering with a well-established New Zealand organisation to find a proactive Level 2 IT Support Technician to join their close-knit IT team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where you’ll have real ownership from day one, supporting a nationwide network of sites while also getting involved in an exciting, large-scale technology transformation programme.

This position is initially offered as a 9-month fixed-term contract, however there is a strong likelihood of ongoing work or a permanent opportunity as the business embarks on several years of project delivery following a major retail systems upgrade.

About the Role – As a key member of a lean and collaborative IT team, you’ll be responsible for providing Level 2 support across a national network of locations. You’ll be the go-to person for a wide variety of technical issues, supporting end users remotely via phone and ticketing systems while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll need to confidently troubleshoot everything from desktop and hardware issues through to supporting business-critical systems and applications.

Alongside BAU support, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to a significant technology transformation programme, helping deliver a new retail platform and supporting future technology initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing Level 2 IT support via phone, email and ticketing systems.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software and desktop issues.
  • Supporting printers, peripherals and end-user devices.
  • Managing incidents and service requests from start to resolution.
  • Supporting both legacy and modern technologies.
  • Building strong relationships with users across multiple locations.
  • Contributing to ongoing IT projects and system upgrades.
  • Taking ownership of issues and continuously looking for ways to improve service delivery.

You’ll be confident communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders and genuinely enjoy delivering excellent customer service. You’re someone who takes initiative, isn’t afraid to roll your sleeves up, and thrives in an environment where no two days are the same.

Ideally you’ll have:

  • 18 months to 2+ years’ experience in an IT Support or Service Desk environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft desktop technologies and general IT infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting hardware, software, printers and end-user devices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites or remote users.
  • Retail IT support experience or exposure to POS/retail systems would be highly advantageous.
