About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a UI Engineer to join a growing Product Development team. Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality user experiences across a suite of AI-powered products. 
This role will suit someone who enjoys working across both product design and front-end development, taking concepts from research and prototyping through to production-ready solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering and delivery teams to create intuitive, accessible and visually compelling experiences for customers.

Technology Environment
You’ll work within a modern cloud-native environment and contribute across the full product development lifecycle. The current technology stack includes:

• Frontend: React, JavaScript, TypeScript
• Backend: Node.js, AWS Serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3)
• AI & Integrations: Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS) and third-party AI models
• Tools & Collaboration: GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, Jira and Confluence

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality front-end solutions across administration platforms, chatbot interfaces and reporting modules
• Conduct user research and create wireframes, prototypes and design artefacts
• Implement new features and enhancements that improve usability and customer experience
• Build reusable components and apply established design systems to ensure consistency and scalability
• Collaborate with developers, delivery teams and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, accessibility testing and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, UI/UX Design or a related technical or creative discipline
• At least 3 years’ experience across product design and front-end development
• Strong commercial experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript and modern front-end development practices
• Experience creating wireframes, prototypes and user-centred design solutions
• Understanding of software development methodologies, practices and tools
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and accessibility testing practices
• Experience working with APIs and cloud-based applications, ideally within AWS environments
• Exposure to Conversational AI, chatbot platforms or AI-enabled products will be highly regarded
• Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, Confluence and collaborative development workflows
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving
