Our client is a well-established organisation that relies on accurate, timely data to support operational and strategic decision-making. They are seeking a capable Business Intelligence & Data Analyst to help maintain and enhance their reporting and data ecosystem while ensuring reliable day-to-day business operations.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical professional with experience across Microsoft BI technologies and Tableau. You will play a key role in supporting business-as-usual activities, maintaining reporting solutions, troubleshooting data issues, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable insights.
The role suits someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes ownership of outcomes, and can balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Maintain and support SSIS ETL packages, including troubleshooting issues and improving data load performance
- Develop, enhance and maintain SSRS reports to ensure accuracy and usability
- Build, refresh and optimise Tableau dashboards and visualisations for business users
- Write, maintain and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, views and functions within SQL Server
- Monitor data quality and resolve issues to maintain integrity across systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into practical reporting and data solutions
- Investigate data discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Document reporting logic, data flows and operational processes
- Support testing activities and contribute to minor system enhancements and releases
Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years’ commercial experience in a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst or similar position
- Strong SQL Server expertise, including T-SQL development, stored procedures, indexing and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting SSIS packages
- Proven capability creating and maintaining SSRS reports, including parameterised reporting and drill-down functionality
- Experience building Tableau dashboards, calculated fields and data visualisations
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple BAU priorities simultaneously
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Desirable Experience
- SQL Server Agent job scheduling
- Data warehousing concepts including star and snowflake schemas
- Exposure to Azure or other cloud-based data platforms
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps or other version control tools
