Accounting Consultant

Role Overview
As an Accounting Consultant, you will work closely with clients to manage their accounting requirements within ERP implementations. This is a client‑facing role that suits an accountant who is looking to upskill, broaden their skill set, and move into a more technical role, while still leveraging their core accounting expertise.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with exposure to the broader accounting function, rather than a purely transactional processing background. The ideal candidate will bring a well-rounded understanding of core accounting principles and how they connect across the business.
This includes:

• Strong balance sheet understanding beyond Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
• Experience with month-end procedures, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journals, and reporting preparation
• Solid general ledger knowledge, with an understanding of how transactions flow through systems and impact financial statements
• Experience with bank reconciliations and an appreciation of financial controls
• Financial reporting capability, including understanding the relationship between operational transactions, the Profit & Loss, and the Balance Sheet
• Exposure to inventory and its interaction with accounting processes is highly beneficial

Skills & Experience

• A recognised New Zealand accounting qualification
• Proven experience working as an Accountant
• Exposure to ERP system implementations is desirable (full training will be provided)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment, with a hands-on and adaptable approach
