About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Test Analyst with strong, hands‑on expertise in payroll systems testing. Reporting to the Payroll Test Manager, you will play a key role in validating payroll system changes, pay cycle transformations, and Holidays Act remediation initiatives.

This is a manual testing role requiring a high level of detail, strong payroll knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, designs, and business rules to inform testing activities.
  • Create and execute traceable test cases across system, integration, regression, and UAT.
  • Identify, log, and manage defects through triage and re‑testing cycles.
  • Collaborate with payroll SMEs, developers, and business testers during validation.
  • Ensure testing aligns with Holidays Act requirements and programme timelines.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated experience testing payroll systems, ideally in complex or large‑scale environments
  • Strong working knowledge of the New Zealand Holidays Act 2003 and its application in payroll calculations
  • Proven ability to create clear, structured test cases and execute testing in line with formal test methodologies
  • Experience using JIRA or similar tools for test management and defect tracking
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
