We’re seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst who specialises in business, functional, and process analysis rather than purely technical or digital delivery.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, understands policy‑to‑operations translation, and brings clarity to complex business problems through structured analysis and process improvement.
About the Role
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will lead complex analysis initiatives across strategic and operational programmes of work. You will partner with business leaders, frontline teams, and subject matter experts to identify problems, opportunities, and service improvement needs, translating these into clear, well‑defined business requirements.
Your focus will be on business outcomes, process efficiency, and public value, ensuring analysis aligns with organisational objectives, governance frameworks, and benefit realisation expectations. You will also provide leadership within the business analysis practice, mentoring others and contributing to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end business and process analysis activities
- Facilitate workshops to elicit, analyse, and prioritise business requirements
- Develop clear functional requirements, user stories, and process models
- Analyse and document business processes using BPMN or similar techniques
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Support solution design to ensure alignment with business intent and policy objectives
- Champion business analysis standards, quality practices, and documentation
- Mentor and support other Business Analysts and contribute to communities of practice
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years’ Business Analysis experience, including 5+ years at a Senior level
- Demonstrated functional and process‑led analysis experience
- Expertise in requirements definition and process modelling (BPMN, UML)
- Proven experience delivering complex, cross‑functional initiatives
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or recognised Business Analysis certification
Desirable
- Experience in regulated, public sector or large complex organisations
- Process improvement credentials (Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking)
- Experience mentoring or coaching Business Analysts
