Head of Architecture

We are looking for a seasoned leader in solution architecture to directly impact the lives of all New Zealanders! Join the team as the Head of Architecture, where you’ll lead a talented team of 20 and drive the development of innovative solutions!
In this role you will oversee the solution architecture function and its teams, ensuring that all activities align with the organization’s objectives and support the Data and Digital group.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the solution architecture function and team(s), delegating responsibilities to achieve objectives.
• Ensure solutions adhere to design principles and practices, meeting the needs of stakeholders.
• Assist in rationalising, regionalising, and nationalising applications according to the application portfolio strategy and cloud transition roadmap.
• Incorporate requirements from enterprise architecture, technology roadmaps, security and privacy, and operational considerations into the team’s design practices.
• Monitor and manage capacity, availability, and standard operating procedures.

What you’ll need:

• Expertise in Solution Architecture principles and practices, and a good understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles.
• Broad IT experience with at least ten years in senior roles with responsibly for complex solution design and design evaluation
• Previous experience at a senior management level and leading teams, ideally from one or more of government, healthcare, and IT service delivery sectors.
• Strong experience with stakeholder management and engaging with strategic vendors at management and operational levels.
• Experience in preparing decision and information papers for senior executives and boards.
