ERP Accounting Consultant

Role Overview
As an Accounting Consultant, you’ll partner closely with clients to support their accounting requirements throughout ERP implementation projects. This client-facing role is ideal for an accountant looking to broaden their capabilities, develop technical expertise, and transition into a consulting environment while continuing to build on their strong accounting foundation.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone with experience across the wider accounting function rather than a purely transactional processing background. The successful candidate will bring a solid understanding of core accounting principles and how different financial processes connect across an organisation.
This includes:

• Strong balance sheet knowledge extending beyond Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
• Experience with month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journals, and reporting preparation
• Sound general ledger knowledge, with an understanding of how transactions flow through systems and impact financial reporting
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and an appreciation of effective financial controls
• Financial reporting capability, including understanding the relationship between operational transactions, the Profit & Loss, and the Balance Sheet
• Exposure to inventory management and its interaction with accounting processes will be highly regarded

Skills & Experience

• A recognised New Zealand accounting qualification
• Demonstrated experience working in an Accountant role
• Exposure to ERP implementations or ERP systems is advantageous, though full training will be provided
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
• A collaborative, adaptable, and hands-on approach, with the ability to thrive in a close-knit team environment
