Our Client specialises in consulting, architecture and design, implementation and deployment, managed services and support. They are experts in Cloud and Infrastructure and work closely with their customers providing exceptional service.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is looking for a proactive Senior Systems Engineer to join their team. This is a hands-on role so technical capabilities are essential.
As an IT Consultant, you will provide high-level technical oversight and support to peers and clients, ensuring exceptional customer service. You will manage client relationships, consult on projects, and provide strategic and architectural advice. Key stakeholders include the General Manager – Auckland, engineering teams, and customer key contacts.
DUTIES
• Design, implement, and manage robust IT solutions, including Windows Server, network infrastructure (VPN, VLANs, routing), and Azure services (VMs, virtual networking, Azure AD, PaaS).
• Ensure data security and compliance through proactive monitoring, security tools like Defender and Sentinel, and adherence to best practices.
• Provide seamless IT support to users and devices, handling desktop troubleshooting, device deployment, and remote access solutions.
• Automate processes and procedures, leveraging scripting and automation skills to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role, ideally in a managed service provider (MSP) environment.
• Strong technical skills in areas like Windows Server, networking, Azure (VMs, virtual networking, WVD, Azure AD, PaaS), Microsoft 365, security tools, and IT support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
• A passion for learning and staying updated on the latest IT trends and technologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
