Senior Automation Test Engineer

About the Role

Our public sector client are looking for a Senior Automation Test Engineer to join on a 6 month contract to support the build, testing, and implementation of a cross-agency data exchange solution. You’ll design and execute automated testing for critical 24/7 systems, working closely within the NZTD Partner Integration team and collaborating across agencies to ensure secure, stable, fit-for-purpose delivery through UAT and implementation readiness.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute automated test scripts
• Architect test approaches for technical implementations
• Test APIs, services, and non-functional requirements
• Uplift regression automation suites and unit testing
• Support end-to-end load and performance testing
• Collaborate across teams and partner agencies

Skills & Experience

• Strong automated testing experience in complex environments
• Test automation fundamentals, programming, SQL, databases
• API testing and web services test experience
• Selenium experience; Playwright exposure helpful
• Confident with static and dynamic analysis techniques
• Performance testing experience or willingness to upskill
