About the Role
This 3-month, part time (approx 15 hours per week) engagement offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future direction of a complex technology environment.
Working closely with business leaders, technical stakeholders, and external providers, you will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current state, evaluate strategic options, and develop recommendations covering infrastructure, cloud adoption, cybersecurity, support models, and sourcing approaches.
The outcome will be a clear, evidence-based business case that supports executive and regional decision-making.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Assess existing infrastructure, cloud services, networking, end-user computing, and support arrangements
- Review cybersecurity controls, risks, maturity, and future operating model options
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather business and technical requirements
- Analyse and compare future-state options including cloud, hybrid, managed services, and outsourced models
- Develop financial models covering TCO, implementation costs, and Capex versus Opex comparisons
- Produce executive-ready recommendations, risk assessments, and implementation roadmaps

Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in IT infrastructure consulting (10 years +) architecture, or technology strategy roles
- Proven track record developing business cases and strategic recommendations for executive audiences
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments
- Experience evaluating managed services, outsourcing, and technology operating models
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, governance, risk management, and best practice
- Ability to facilitate workshops, engage stakeholders, and influence decision-makers
- Experience delivering technology reviews, transformation programmes, or operating model assessments
- Exposure to regulated environments, security standards, or compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 would be highly regarded
Ideal Background
You are a commercially minded consultant who can bridge technical complexity with business outcomes. Comfortable operating at both strategic and technical levels, you bring strong analytical capability, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to deliver clear recommendations in complex stakeholder environments.
