Aurora Energy
Aurora Energy is one of New Zealand’s largest electricity distribution networks, providing essential power infrastructure across some of the country’s fastest-growing communities and most varied landscapes in Te Waipounamu, the South Island. They own, operate, and maintain the network that delivers safe, reliable, and sustainable electricity to more than 200,000 residents throughout Ōtepoti Dunedin, Central Otago/Wānaka, and Tāhuna Queenstown. Their purpose is to enable the energy future of the communities they serve.
The Opportunity
In this newly created position, you will play a pivotal role in one of the most important transformation programmes. Working alongside programme leadership, workstream owners and subject matter experts, you will lead the people side of change across a complex and highly visible programme that spans multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.
You’ll help shape the change journey from strategy through to implementation, ensuring that communications, stakeholder engagement, training and adoption activities are aligned and purposeful. Just as importantly, you’ll help create the conditions for lasting change by embedding new behaviours, processes, governance structures and ways of working that continue long after the programme has been delivered.
About You
You’re a seasoned change professional who thrives in a complex ‘hands on’ environment that understands meaningful transformation is as much about people, culture and behaviours as it is about processes and systems.
You may have built your career in an organisation that focuses on process change within medium to large scale transformation programmes, business improvement initiatives, operational excellence programmes or technology-enabled change environments. You are comfortable operating across multiple workstreams simultaneously and have a track record of helping organisations successfully navigate significant and lasting change.
You may have worked within utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, engineering, asset-intensive organisations or similarly complex operating environments where balancing operational realities with transformation objectives is critical.
What You’ll Bring
- A combination of strategic thinking and practical delivery capability, with the ability to see the bigger picture while remaining focused on successful implementation
- Exceptional communication skills as someone who can adapt their approach to suit executives, frontline teams and technical specialists
- A proven history of skilled stakeholder engagement, change impact assessment, organisational readiness, communications planning, training and capability development
- An understanding of how to identify and manage resistance, influence outcomes without relying on authority and maintain momentum in environments where priorities can shift and ambiguity is a constant
- A resilient, collaborative and highly self-aware mindset that enables you to build trust and work effectively with a diverse range of people and perspectives
- Above all, you’ll be motivated by the opportunity to help shape lasting organisational change and leave behind a stronger, more capable and more connected business
