About the Role

As a Test Engineer, you will support the delivery of a key data-focused programme, contributing to the planning, scripting, and execution of both functional and non-functional testing. You will work across data pipelines and APIs, ensuring integration points and data flows meet technical and business expectations, while contributing to quality practices and CI/CD processes. This is a 37.5 hour per week contract engagement.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases across functional, integration, regression, API, and UI scenarios
  • Support quality practices by applying testing standards, validating acceptance criteria, and contributing to CI/CD quality gates
  • Investigate defects by reproducing issues, gathering logs, and assisting with root cause analysis
  • Maintain and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks while learning scalable testing approaches
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements, including API integrations, into clear testable scenarios


Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience with SQL and data validation, including data or ETL testing
  • Automation testing capability, ideally using Python
  • Experience with API and integration testing
  • Exposure to data platform testing such as Databricks is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, or structured data formats such as SDMX is beneficial
