About the Role

You will lead automation testing for a large-scale data initiative modernising the production of key national indicators. Working across APIs, data pipelines, and integration layers, you will design and maintain automation frameworks, validate service interactions and data flows, and drive quality across distributed systems.
This is a 37.5 hour per week contract engagement.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain automated test suites across API, integration, UI, and data pipeline layers
  • Develop and execute API testing including functional, regression, and contract validation
  • Validate API payloads, schemas, and service interactions across systems
  • Lead defect triage, incident response, and root cause analysis across services and data flows
  • Collaborate with teams to define API and data-driven test scenarios and quality criteria


Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience building automation frameworks with strong API and integration testing capability
  • Hands-on experience testing REST APIs, including payload validation, contracts, and service behaviour
  • Strong Python and SQL skills for automation, API validation, and data testing
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated API tests into delivery workflows
  • Background in data or ETL testing across modern platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure
