They operate a nationwide sales, parts, and service network supporting key industries such as construction, forestry, transport, agriculture, mining, and quarrying, playing a critical role in support of vital New Zealand Infrastructure.
About the Role
Absolute IT are proud to be supporting CablePrice with their recruitment for a Technology Services Lead. In this position you will take ownership of IT support functions across New Zealand. This role is hands‑on and varied, covering L1–L2 support, networking, and onsite technical work.
While CablePrice has access to a 25‑member Infrastructure & IT team in Australia for escalations, the objective is for this role to independently handle the majority of New Zealand issues.
You’ll oversee workflow for a small NZ support team and play a key role in ensuring staff from workshop floor to the Leadership Team receive reliable, accessible technical support. This role includes occasional travel (approx. once a month) to regional branches.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Deliver and oversee L1–L2 support across desktops, networking, cloud apps, and on‑prem systems
- Lead ticket management, device imaging, hardware builds, and general desktop services
- Coordinate workloads and workflows for a small NZ support team
- Provide face‑to‑face support to staff with varying levels of tech literacy
- Manage the organisation’s new mobile phone system and asset register
- Partner with the Head of IT on business planning and support project activity in NZ
- Provide onsite support at branches nationwide as required
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years in a hands-on desktop support role.
- Ability to drive process improvement and workflow prioritisation across a small team.
- Strong technical capability and the confidence to work independently
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders from blue‑collar teams to executives
- Proactive, self‑driven, and committed to continuous learning
- Excellent communication skills and an approachable, customer‑centric style
