About the Role

Working for our public sector client, as a Senior Developer you’ll design, develop, test, and maintain information systems spanning high‑throughput web applications and data platforms. The role suits a senior contributor who enjoys staying deeply hands‑on while providing technical analysis, troubleshooting, and day‑to‑day guidance for junior developers. Two positions are available across application or database streams.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain application or database solutions
• Deliver secure, performant services (web apps/APIs) or advanced SQL, ETL, and data models
• Collaborate with architects, BAs, and testers on solution design and delivery
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and optimise performance
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and engineering standards
• Mentor junior developers and share best practice

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in either advanced SQL development (SQL Server, data warehousing, BI tools) or JEE/web apps (Spring, HTML/JS, APIs, CI/CD)
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and performance optimisation skills
• Experience delivering resilient, secure systems in complex environments
• Clear communicator who collaborates well in cross‑functional teams
• Comfortable operating across analysis, build, and support activities
