About the Role

This fixed-term role (until end of July 2025) is ideal for an OSS Systems Engineer ready to dive in and support both monitoring and a wide range of other technologies. You’ll be needed to hit the ground running, and will work within a close-knit team of six bringing operational ownership of Linux applications and supporting essential systems across both Linux and Windows environments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide operational support and oversight for Linux-based applications.
• Manage on-premises infrastructure, including network monitoring and legacy solutions.
• Collaborate on SMTP and API configurations and maintain various monitoring systems.
• Use Ansible for deployments and read and modify Python scripts as needed.
• Contribute to a supportive, compassionate team environment, prioritising collaboration and effective teamwork.

Skills and Experience Required

• Proven experience in OSS Systems Engineering within on-premises environments.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows monitoring systems or SCADA.
• Familiarity with Ansible for deployments and exposure to Python (for reading/modifying scripts).
• Strong understanding of SMTP and APIs.
• A collaborative and empathetic approach to teamwork, with an ability to take direction.
