Senior Technology Leadership Role
Iconic Bay of Plenty Business
Permanent Role Based in Tauranga
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Trevelyan’s is New Zealand’s largest single-site kiwifruit and avocado packing and coolstorage operation, based in Te Puke in the heart of the Bay of Plenty. What started in 1971 as a small family orchard has grown into a major Packhouse and orchard management services operation, without losing the close-knit, values based feel that growers and team members talk about again and again.
It’s a practical, hands-on operation with a genuine commitment to sustainability, continuous improvement and doing right by its people, its growers and its community.
This new role is a key step in the Trevelyan’s digital and technology roadmap, joining now means getting boots on the ground early, understanding our current state, and playing a genuine shaping role in moving the digital experience forward for our team and our growers.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a senior leadership appointment, based full time in Te Puke and reporting to the CFO.
Right now, technology at Trevelyan’s runs on a small in-house team working alongside long-standing partners, keeping things going day to day. What’s missing is someone who owns the whole picture: the direction, the data, and the relationships with every vendor we rely on.
You’ll get close to the operations floor, from packhouse to coolstores, growers and the wider business, to understand where technology improvements could best support business goals. From there, you’ll set the roadmap, bring our vendor and outsourced partnerships under one clear strategy, and build the in-house team to deliver it over time. You’ll chair our AI Governance Group, own the technology risk register, and report progress to the SLT and Board each quarter.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Senior technology leadership experience, ideally with ERP, data/BI and infrastructure exposure in a mid-size NZ organisation
- A track record running a hybrid in-house and outsourced model
- Equally comfortable in the boardroom and rolling up your sleeves with vendors
- Agribusiness, primary industry or supply chain experience is a bonus, not a must
- Strong stakeholder skills and sharp commercial instincts in vendor negotiation
- Confidence chairing governance groups and influencing without direct authority
BENEFITS
- 12 Trevelyan’s days (subject to policy)
- Medical insurance
