About the Company
Our client is a large, Auckland‑based public sector provider delivering essential infrastructure services to a large customer base. It is known for its long‑term asset stewardship, sustainability focus, and complex delivery environment. The culture is collaborative and outcome‑focused, offering contractors the opportunity to contribute immediately and work alongside experienced digital and business leaders.

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Workday Systems Analyst to provide short-term contract support within their People Systems team. Working closely with their Workday Functional Lead, you’ll help deliver a programme of approved enhancements, support business-as-usual activities, and contribute to the ongoing optimisation of their Workday platform.
This role is focused on increasing delivery capacity as they continue to embed, optimise and enhance Workday following implementation. You’ll work within established governance, prioritisation and change processes while partnering with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
•    Support the delivery of approved Workday enhancements and system improvements.
•    Triage, investigate and resolve Workday issues and system enquiries.
•    Gather, analyse and document business requirements.
•    Configure and support solutions across Workday functional areas, including Core HCM, Reporting, Time Tracking, Absence, Talent and Recruiting.
•    Help design and build reports and dashboards within Workday in conjunction with the Remuneration & Reporting Partner.
•    Support, monitor and troubleshoot Workday integrations, including PECI.
•    Assist with testing, release activities and system changes.
•    Contribute to process improvement initiatives, data quality and system optimisation.
•    Partner with stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned to agreed priorities, governance frameworks and change processes.

Skills & Experience
Our client is looking for someone who can quickly add value in a recently implemented Workday environment and work collaboratively as part of a small, high-performing team.

Essential
•    Demonstrated Workday experience across Core HCM, Reporting, Time Tracking and Absence.
•    Strong reporting and analytics capability.
•    Experience supporting Workday integrations, ideally including PECI.
•    Ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions.
•    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•    Experience working within governance and change management frameworks.
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver outcomes within an established Workday operating model.
•    Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
•    Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable
•    Workday certification(s).
•    Experience supporting HR, Payroll or People Systems functions.
•    Knowledge of employee lifecycle processes and Workday best practice.
