ABOUT THE ROLE
The Infrastructure System Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for managing and improving digital infrastructure, including servers, networks, integrations, user devices, and identity systems. The position ensures platforms are secure, reliable, and aligned with the Digital Strategy, covering IT, OT, and data environments. Key duties include administering hybrid server environments, designing and maintaining networks, managing integrations and cybersecurity, supporting user devices, and driving automation and continuous improvement. The role emphasises proactive communication, thorough documentation, strategic alignment, and responsive support, while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5 years in senior infrastructure or systems roles, ideally across IT and OT environments.
• Strong end-to-end knowledge of compute, storage, networking, cloud, and security; skilled in automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Proven ability in secure network design and segmentation, plus experience integrating business, laboratory, and data systems using APIs or middleware.
• Exceptional ability to maintain clear, accurate documentation and communicate effectively across teams.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable improvements in reliability, performance, and service quality.
• Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Systems, Engineering, or related field; industry certifications in networking, virtualization, or cloud preferred.
