Product Owner – Modern Data Platforms
 
A highly respected organisation delivering enterprise-wide data and digital transformation initiatives is seeking a Technial Delivery lead to lead the evolution of their cloud-native data platform. This is a pivotal role focused on enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing platform capabilities that support a wide range of technical and data delivery teams.
Working alongside experienced engineers, architects, and product teams, the Product Owner will be responsible for prioritising platform capabilities, managing infrastructure and automation needs, and ensuring the platform meets the security, compliance, and performance requirements of a complex enterprise environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

  • Define and drive modern data platform strategy, including architecture, scalability, and modularity
  • Prioritise workloads across platform engineering teams based on cross-functional dependencies and business impact
  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) delivery using tools such as Terraform
  • Enable CI/CD workflows across data pipelines and platform components
  • Ensure platform observability and reliability through proactive monitoring and communication
  • Promote data security best practice, including access control, encryption, and compliance
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and support data enablement across the organisation
  • Manage vendor engagement and evaluate new tools in line with evolving platform needs
  • Optimise platform performance and cloud cost efficiency across tools like Azure and Snowflake

 
Skills and Experience
 

  • Proven experience as a Technical, Product Owner or similar role within data platform or engineering environments
  • Strong technical understanding of modern data platforms and cloud-native architecture
  • Familiarity with key tooling including Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Azure, and Terraform
  • Experience managing technical product backlogs and delivering platform improvements at scale
  • Deep knowledge of data governance, platform observability, automation, and security controls
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable product strategies
  • Skilled at stakeholder engagement across both engineering and business teams
