With dedicated hardware, software, cloud, embedded, and ML teams, their sixth-generation product is pushing the boundaries of robotics and smart automation. About the Role

You’ll need to be present in Wellington to lead and scale a cross-functional engineering function, managing delivery across hardware, embedded systems, cloud, and software teams. Working alongside product and programme leaders, your focus will be on turning prototypes into market-ready solutions. You’ll report to senior leadership, shape engineering strategy, and ensure delivery aligns with roadmap milestones—including major conference deadlines in October and January.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering strategy and execution across hardware, software, and embedded systems
  • Manage a team of 30–40 engineers with 4–5 direct reports
  • Oversee product validation (EVT, DVT, PVT) and go-to-market readiness
  • Collaborate with product, programme, and manufacturing teams on delivery milestones
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks in complex, customer-facing hardware


Skills & Experience Required

  • 10+ years in hardware/software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership
  • Proven experience managing teams of 30–40 with direct people leader reports
  • Strong knowledge of EVT, DVT, PVT, and hardware product lifecycle
  • Background in robotics, embedded systems, or complex electronics
  • Skilled in technical delivery and cross-functional collaboration
