ABOUT THE ROLE
The Digital Infrastructure Programme Lead (full time on-site role) plays a critical role in supporting the organisations digital vision by providing technical delivery leadership across the Digital Infrastructure portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, this position is responsible for guiding the planning, coordination, governance, and successful delivery of infrastructure initiatives that enhance the digital environment.
Working across a diverse range of technology programmes, the role ensures infrastructure renewals, technology implementations, operational improvements, and other digital initiatives are delivered in a practical, secure, resilient, and sustainable manner. The position acts as a key link between technical teams, architects, project delivery professionals, operational service owners, vendors, and business stakeholders, ensuring that infrastructure investments align with organisations priorities, technology roadmaps, and operational requirements.
This is a technical leadership role rather than a project management or people management position. The Digital Infrastructure Programme Lead provides oversight, technical assurance, and operational readiness guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring solutions can be effectively transitioned into ongoing support and operations. The role also drives continuous improvement in infrastructure delivery practices, governance processes, and service transition capabilities, contributing to a future-ready digital ecosystem that supports teaching, research, and business operations across the organisation.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical infrastructure expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, enabling them to influence outcomes, manage complex dependencies, and provide trusted advice across a broad range of digital infrastructure initiatives. Their contribution will help ensure the organisations maintains a secure, connected, sustainable, and high-performing technology environment that supports its strategic objectives.
