ERP Consultant – Accounting and Business Systems

We’re looking for an ERP Consultant to join a growing technology and consulting business that helps organisations improve efficiency, streamline operations, and gain greater visibility through modern business systems. This is an opportunity to move away from traditional accounting and into a client-facing consulting role where you’ll combine your finance expertise with technology, business process improvement, and system implementation projects.

Working alongside experienced consultants, you’ll partner directly with clients to understand their requirements, improve financial processes, and deliver successful ERP and business system solutions.

The Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys problem-solving, working with people, and understanding how systems support business operations.
You’ll work closely with clients throughout the implementation lifecycle, from requirements gathering and process mapping through to system configuration, testing, training, and go-live support. You’ll help organisations improve financial workflows, reporting capabilities, and operational processes while building valuable consulting and ERP expertise.
This is a varied position that combines accounting knowledge, project work, stakeholder engagement, and technology consulting.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to understand business requirements and financial processes.
• Assist with ERP and business system implementation projects.
• Facilitate workshops, requirements-gathering sessions, and process reviews.
• Translate business and accounting requirements into practical system solutions.
• Support data migration, system testing, user acceptance testing, and go-live activities.
• Provide user training and ongoing support to clients.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimisation.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across finance, operations, and leadership teams.

About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong accounting capability with excellent communication and client engagement skills.
Your background will include:

• Relevant accounting qualification or equivalent finance experience.
• Experience within a finance or accounting function.
• Strong understanding of financial processes, general ledger structures, and month-end activities.
• Experience preparing journals, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and management reports.
• Understanding of how operational activities impact financial reporting and business performance.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Previous client-facing experience within consulting, implementation, advisory, or customer-facing environments.
• Exposure to ERP, accounting, or business systems.
• Experience participating in or supporting system implementation, ERP deployment, transformation, or process improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive mindset and genuine interest in technology and business improvement.
