Integration Tech Lead
Apply now
04 Jun 2026
- Strong technical influence to shape scalable solutions.
- 5-month contract | Immediate requirement
- Auckland Central | Hybrid working
We are looking for a highly technical, hands‑on Integration Lead to join a Digital team and hit the ground running. This is a senior technical role for someone who is confident on the tools, understands software and integrations end‑to‑end, and can stand their ground in design discussions with strong technical credibility.
This is not a people‑manager role. You will act as a technical lead—working closely with other engineering teams, architects, and stakeholders—driving integration design, delivery, and standards while remaining deeply hands‑on.
About the Role
- Hands‑on design and delivery of integrations across internal and external systems
- Lead technical conversations around integration patterns, APIs, security, and data flows
- Work closely with delivery teams to design, build, and support integrations
- Mentor junior engineers and raise technical capability across the team
- Engage with stakeholders and confidently challenge designs, assumptions, and approaches where needed
- Contribute to integration standards, best practices, and technical decision‑making
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone technically strong, confident, and pragmatic—someone who understands code, integrations, and cloud platforms, and can quickly adapt to new tools and languages.
Required Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience in integration engineering or DevOps‑adjacent roles
- Solid understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript and modern integration patterns
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript preferred, but strong software engineers who understand code and can quickly learn syntax are encouraged to apply
- Strong experience working with APIs, event‑driven integrations, and system‑to‑system communication
- Experience working in Azure environments, with delivery pipelines and tooling in Azure DevOps
- Working knowledge of AWS and hybrid cloud environments
- Solid understanding of databases (relational concepts, connections, data flows; Snowflake exposure beneficial but not required)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including firewalls, rate limiting, internal vs external traffic, and why controls are in place
- Proven ability to operate in complex environments and push back with confidence when required
Nice to Have
- Experience across large, complex integration landscapes
- Background in platform, enterprise integration, or cloud engineering
- Experience supporting Agile delivery teams
This role suits someone with a strong technical presence, who enjoys being on the tools, leading by example, and shaping integration solutions that are secure, scalable, and fit for purpose.
