This well-established cybersecurity provider supports government, infrastructure, and enterprise clients across New Zealand. Known for its tailored security solutions and managed services, the organisation is expanding its Security Operations Centre (SOC) to meet growing demand. About the Role
You’ll be designing and building automation to support SOC operations, onboarding new clients into SIEM, SOAR, and EDR/XDR platforms. Reporting to the Head of Security Operations, you’ll work closely with SOC Analysts to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and explore AI/ML solutions to enhance detection and response capabilities.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automation workflows for SOC onboarding and operations
- Develop SOAR playbooks and reusable automation components
- Integrate SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and threat intelligence platforms
- Collaborate with Analysts to identify and automate manual processes
- Research and apply AI/ML tools to improve SOC efficiency
Skills & Experience Required
- 3–5+ years in SOC, DevSecOps, or automation engineering
- Proficient in Python; KQL, JavaScript, PowerShell/Bash a bonus
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, and EDR/XDR platforms
- Strong understanding of SOC workflows and incident response
- Collaborative, client-facing, and eager to mentor others
