About the Role

As a Senior Database Reliability Engineer, you will manage and optimise AWS PostgreSQL databases, ensuring availability, security, and performance. You’ll collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and product owners, delivering solutions through CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools. This is a hands-on, senior position with scope to influence best practices in database reliability.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and optimise AWS PostgreSQL databases for high availability and security
  • Design and implement database solutions using AWS CDK and CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product owners to deliver initiatives
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures
  • Ensure data integrity through effective backup and recovery strategies

Skills & Experience Required

We’re looking for a senior professional with proven PostgreSQL expertise and strong AWS knowledge. You will bring:

  • Experience as a Database Administrator focused on PostgreSQL in production environments
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, such as RDS and Aurora
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools (CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash)
  • Familiarity with Agile, ideally with SAFe experience or certification
