About the Company & Role
A prominent organisation delivering impactful, large-scale projects aimed at improving services and enriching user experiences throughout the Auckland region is looking for a Product Owner – Business Intelligence & Analytics to drive the design and delivery of robust, data-focused solutions that support informed decision-making across the enterprise.
As the Product Owner – Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will be responsible for guiding the strategic direction, ensuring value delivery, and continuously improving the organization’s enterprise analytics products and services. In this role, you will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to shape and maintain a roadmap of reporting and analytics solutions that align with the organisation’s evolving needs. This involves advocating for modern BI platforms, upholding technical standards, and encouraging best practices in data visualisation, modelling, and integration.

Skills & Experience:
- Senior role within business intelligence or analytics functions
- Deep expertise in modern analytics platforms, including Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and the broader Microsoft data ecosystem
- Strong skills in dimensional and semantic data modelling (e.g., star and snowflake schemas) optimised for performance and usability
- Solid understanding of cloud data warehousing (Azure), including ingestion, transformation, and optimisation
- Proven ability to gather reporting requirements and deliver intuitive, interactive dashboards and visualisations
- Experience with integration and transformation tools such as Azure Data Factory, dbt, or native Snowflake pipelines
- Strong knowledge of data governance and security, including role-based access, data lineage, and compliance
- Awareness of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PII) and their impact on analytics and data handling
- Familiarity with enterprise analytics ecosystems, including third-party tools, connectors, and platforms like Dataiku for AI and modelling
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills, especially when balancing competing reporting needs
- Skilled in managing and prioritising product backlogs aligned to business outcomes, data maturity, and strategic priorities
