Our client is a public sector entity playing a vital role in the educational system of Aotearoa New Zealand through ensuring the delivery of an effective and equitable curriculum.

About the Role

As a Solution Architect, you will develop and guide solution architecture and design, ensuring they are high quality and cost-effective. You’ll submit designs to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and resolve any issues. Your role involves contributing to target state architectures, providing technical leadership and mentoring, and supporting project delivery. You’ll identify and manage security and technical risks and report issues to the Portfolio Manager/Team Leader Architecture.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and guide solution architecture and design.
  • Submit and refine designs with the Architecture Review Board (ARB).
  • Mentor team members and provide technical leadership.
  • Manage security and technical risks in proposed solutions.
  • Support successful project delivery.

Skills & Experience Required

We seek a candidate with strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and excellent writing abilities. Key skills and experience include:

  • Experience engaging with senior business managers and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, working independently with unclear requirements.
  • Proven track record in solution design through all phases to go-live.
  • Designing and developing solutions in AWS and Azure.
  • Expertise in REST API design, legacy application modernisation, and enterprise Java systems.
