ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Data Specialist! This is a hands-on, on-site role focused on data engineering, system optimisation, and integration. As a Data Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing database systems (including SQL Server), developing efficient data pipelines (ETL/ELT), building automated reporting solutions (Qlik BI), and integrating various business systems securely using APIs and middleware. Key responsibilities also include automating processes, ensuring data quality and governance, and providing technical support and vendor liaison. This is an essential on-site position based in Hamilton requiring a strong hands-on approach to data management, integration, and system performance.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- New Zealand Citizen or Locally Based Permanent Resident with over 10 years of experience in data engineering, system integration, and database administration.
- Expert in SQL Server, including query optimisation, indexing, stored procedures, and replication strategies, with strong ETL/ELT pipeline and data integration experience.
- Skilled in Python or Java for advanced automation, along with VB Scripting (macros and frontends) to enhance automation and reporting tools.
- Proven ability to develop secure, automated data pipelines for invoicing, reporting, and analytics in fast-paced, hands-on agile environments.
- Extensive experience in API development and middleware integration, preferably with WSO2, to ensure seamless system interoperability.
- Proficient in Qlik BI for enterprise-wide reporting and data visualisation, supporting automation and decision-making processes.
