ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior System Engineer based on-site in Taranaki will be instrumental in leading Azure migrations, implementing hub/spoke architectures for scalable cloud networks, and managing Azure Virtual Desktop including gold images. You’ll also be responsible for Azure storage solutions (Files & Blob), Azure Backup, and cloud tiering via Azure Sync, while driving best practices with the Cloud Adoption Framework and optimising costs using Azure Cost & Billing Management. Your expertise will extend to administering Microsoft Entra ID for identity and access management, conditional access, and enterprise application integration. You’ll also manage and secure Microsoft 365 workloads like Exchange Online and SharePoint, leveraging Secure Score to enhance security. Finally, you’ll implement and support Microsoft Defender across various environments, deliver seamless device lifecycle management with Intune and Autopilot, handle application packaging, manage Group Policies, implement Security Baselines, and provide support for Windows 11 and other Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Azure Cloud Expertise: Proficient in Azure cloud computing, including structured Cloud Adoption Frameworks, Hub/Spoke network implementations, and seamless migrations of applications and data.
• Azure Services & Solutions: Experienced with core Azure services such as Virtual Desktop (including Gold Images), Storage (Files & Blob), Backup, and cost management.
• Identity & Access Management (Entra ID): Skilled in Entra ID for robust identity and access management, including Conditional Access, Enterprise Applications, and general administration.
• Microsoft 365 & Collaboration: Expertise in Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online and SharePoint for enhanced collaboration, and utilising Secure Score to assess and improve security posture.
• Hybrid & Private Cloud Environments: Experienced in managing MS Exchange in hybrid environments and migrating private cloud platforms from VMware to Hyper-V.
• Comprehensive Security: Proficient with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, EndPoint, Apps, and Identity, providing a holistic security approach across platforms.
• Modern Workspace Management: Specializes in Microsoft Modern Workspace, utilizing Intune/Autopilot for efficient device management and application packaging for smooth software deployment.
• Endpoint Configuration & Security: Adept at managing user and computer settings with GPOs and implementing Security Baselines to ensure consistent security standards across Windows 11 and other endpoints.
